"Authentic", "motivational", "enjoyable" and "relevant". These
are the four ingredients which we consider to be our recipe for successful study materials.
Our aim is to provide
packs of resources which target those areas of language learning rarely covered by traditional textbooks. We
appreciate the constraints of time management, stress and work overload to which all teachers are subjected and hope to alleviate
these problems by producing topic-based “themed” packs which both deliver the language effectively and provide
that vital “fun” ingredient to maintain student motivation.

Our initial publications were photocopiable worksheets based on the Euro 2008 Football Championship in June 2008
in Austria and Switzerland. These were aimed at Key Stage 3 students and were differentiated into Foundation, Intermediate
and Higher level worksheets in order to cover the full ability range. There were 20 worksheets in each pack, plus introduction and answer
sections. Each pack was provided in a sturdy plastic clipfile.
This is what our customers said about our "Euro
2008" workpacks:
"We appreciated the real linguistic
challenge incorporated in the pack. Such resources will be invaluable as the New Secondary Curriculum stresses the need for
cultural & cross-curricular themes as well as authentic contexts. More please!"
Wendy Hale, Cowley Language College, St Helen’s.
"One
particularly positive outcome was that students really enjoyed and focused closely on the games and code-breaking puzzles."
Emma Williams, Morecambe High
School.
"I found the packs especially beneficial for boys, encouraging
research and dictionary work."
Ann Laemmer, Moor Park Business & Enterprise School, Preston. If you require further details of Germania Educational
publications, please email us from the "Contact Us" page of this website.
